Datuk Zunaidah Idris

Head of Dealing, Senior Vice President, Hong Leong Investment Bank Bhd.

She has a vast experience in area of strategic planning and business development with more than 27 years experiences in the area of investment banking. She has successfully developed Institutional and Corporate business through her career especially in the area of investment. She is very passionate in human capital development, and continuously seeking new and innovative way in doing business.

She has built a successful career that is backed with a strong track record in the highly competitive stockbroking industry. A leader with vision and passion, she has successfully developed a capable and dynamic team that is ranked among the top 4 in the domestic stockbroking industry. At HLIB she played a major role in establishing the Shariah based the Islamic Window Broking Platform. She was also invited by Bursa Malaysia in the committee promoting Shariah Investing in Malaysia.

An exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills she is known as someone whom champion knowledge and education as paramount in enhancing the industry’s competency. This passion has led her being involved in various initiatives in organizing talks, seminars, conferences, company visits as well as meeting with various government agencies and regulators. She played an important role in collaborating with Bursa Malaysia through the Bursa- HLIB Stratum Focus Series Conferences.  A platform that provides an in depth sectoral outlook analysis for institutional investors.  She was also instrumental in establishing the working relationship between MGA and HLIB, where HLIB has supported or sponsored some of MGA initiatives.

She is also actively involved in charitable organizations and as her tribute to her contribution, she was a recipient of 2013 Perak Friends of Girl Guide Award for organizing multiple Charity Dinners in Perak. The award was bestowed by the Patron of Perak Girl Guide, the Royal Highness DYMM Raja Permaisuri Perak.

On 1st Aug 2020, she was appointed as Professor Adjunct by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor.

She is currently the Industry Advisory Panel Member for Banking & Finance, School of Accounting, Finance & Quantitative Studies, at the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation and was appointed to the SC Licensing Examination Review Committee 2019.

Amy Chua

President, Asia

Ms. Amy Chua is President of Schlumberger, Asia basin, a role she assumed in July 2020.

In this position, Ms.Chua is responsible for the overall growth and strategic direction of Schlumberger in Asia, focusing on fit-for-basin technological and commercial solutions that delivers performance for both clients and Schlumberger. Ms. Chua is also accountable for Schlumberger’s Stewardship, including Health, Safety and Environmental performance.

Prior to her current position Ms. Chua held the position of Managing Director of Schlumberger Australasia based in Perth. In a career spanning more than 20 years, prior roles have included HQ positions in Houston as Vice President of Sales & Commercial, and Vice President Marketing and Technology with responsibilities for product development and strategic marketing. Ms. Chua started her career in Project Management in Singapore, followed by a tenure in heading the Lean Six Sigma enterprise program for Surface Systems, a division of the company’s Drilling and Production Group then.

She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, holds an MBA from Hull University, UK and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

Soorya Themudu

Human Resource Director APAC, Sodexo

Soorya Themudu joined Sodexo, a worldwide leader in Quality of Life Services backed by 470,000 employees in 80 countries across the globe as the HR Director for APAC region. She comes with a solid background in various regional leadership HR roles, working in world class companies across the energy, oil & gas and pharmaceutical industries.

Her work has taken her from Malaysia to SEA countries, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, India, Korea, Japan and Australia.  Soorya’s experience to date encompasses all aspects of the HR agenda: Reward Strategy, Performance Management, Leadership Development, Organization Design, Cultural Change, Business Transformation, HR Systems, Employee Relations and Stakeholder Engagement. 

In addition to her work, she has also championed Diversity & Inclusion initiatives in her previous and current workplace.

Soorya holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biochemistry from University Putra Malaysia. 

Dato’ Roslina Zainal

Independent Non-Executive Director, Tenaga Nasional Bhd.

Roslina brings with her a wealth of experience in the energy sector in the areas of Utility Economics, Regulation, Energy Procurement, Planning and Strategy. She was the lead negotiator for her previous company, Tenaga Nasional Berhad for the Power Purchase Agreements with the Independent Power Producers (IPPs), negotiating with the Government on tariffs under the Incentive Based Regulations (IBR), negotiating gas framework and gas supply agreements.

She sat on many committees chaired by various Ministers on Energy, Gas and Tariff. Roslina was a member of the National Gas Committee chaired by Dato Seri Idris Jala to address issues pertaining to gas constraint for the power sector. Roslina was also a member of the National Committee on Planning Development of Electricity Tariffs chaired by the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water. Roslina has also worked together with Government agencies such as Energy Commission, Ministry of Energy and the Economic Planning Unit of the PM’s Department on issues pertaining to energy.

She has worked in the Distribution, Transmission and Generation Planning functions in Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). She also represented TNB at International Investor conferences and attended one-on-one dialogues with investors on regulations affecting the power sector. She has presented papers at international conferences and sat on panel discussions as a leading expert on energy and regulation.

She acquired a wealth of business and management skills through her involvement as a top management in TNB. She currently sits on the Boards of Sapura Energy Berhad, TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd and Prai Power Sdn Bhd.

Takumi Suzuki

Chief Executive Officer, AXA Partners Malaysia

Takumi Suzuki is CEO of AXA Partners Malaysia (a.k.a Asia Assistance Network (M) Sdn Bhd) and Head of Health AXA Partners Asia, since Dec 2019 based in Kuala Lumpur. Takumi is managing Malaysia and Singapore providing full lines of assistance business such as Health TPA, Travel International Medical Assistance, Motor Roadside Assistance and Home Assistance, through 24/7 operations. AXA Partners Malaysia is the largest entity among AXA Partners Asia, having 30+ partnership with Insurance companies, 3,000+ provider network and 500+ staffs in Malaysia. AXA Partners Malaysia also serves as Regional Hub providing operational support to other countries in Asia.

Takumi began his career at AXA Life JAPAN in Apr 2000. He started in Distribution and Marketing in AXA Life JAPAN and had 3 years’ experience working in GIE AXA, the headquarter of AXA in Paris. He worked at Group Marketing & Distribution, having supported more than 20 countries across the world for their Distribution strategy.

In 2014, Takumi has been appointed as Corporate Office, Head of AXA Corporates at AXA Life JAPAN, as the youngest executive in Japan Life Insurance industry. He managed one of the largest Employee Benefit business in AXA, with USD 650M turnover.

In 2017, Takumi joined AXA Partners which is the dedicated B2B business unit of AXA for servicing and specialized insurance. Takumi was Country CEO of AXA Partners Japan and then appointed Regional Head of Health in 2018.

In addition to the current role, Takumi also holds Advisor role at Future Skills Project Association in Japan, which is to develop the value-adding educational programs at top private universities in Japan.

Takumi had a dedicated Executive Coaching program for 3 years and himself is also having Coaching Certification as experienced coach.

Takumi holds a B.A. in Business & Commerce in KEIO University in Japan.

Hazli Sham Kassim

President, Malaysian Gas Association

Nan Yusri Nan Rahimy

Group Managing Director, Deleum Bhd. 

Nan Yusri bin Nan Rahimy is currently the Group Managing Director of Deleum Berhad since 2011. 

He graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (now RMIT University), Australia with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering in 1996. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and an alumni of the INSEAD Business School.  He is a Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) registered with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) in the field of Oil & Gas Technology.

Nan Yusri has been involved in the Oil & Gas, and the Energy Industry for more than 20 years. He joined Deleum Services as a Marketing Executive supporting the turbomachinery business in April 1996 and was later re-designated to Application Engineer in November 1996. He subsequently held several senior positions within the Group including Senior Marketing Manager, Assistant Vice President - Business Development, Vice President - Exploration and Production, Chief Operating Officer - Oilfield Services and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Deleum Oilfield Services Sdn. Bhd. (DOSSB). In September 2010, he was promoted to CEO of Deleum Services, the holding company of DOSSB, before being appointed to his current position.

He was appointed a Council Member of the Malaysian Gas Association in May 2016. He sits on the Board of International Conference and Exhibition Professionals (iCEP) as Alternate Director to Datuk Vivekananthan a/l M.V. Nathan. He is also a Council Member of the Student Development Advisory Council of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS since December 2014.

Chye Neo Chong

Independent Director, Bursa Malaysia, Hong Leong Financial Group and Hong Leong Bank

Chong Chye Neo retired as Managing Director of IBM Malaysia in Dec 2018. She holds the distinction of being the first woman to helm the company in its
57-year history in Malaysia and currently serves as an Independent Director on the boards of 3 Public Listed companies - Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Hong
Leong Financial Group Berhad and Hong Leong Bank Berhad.

She has been part of the Information Technology (IT) industry for more than 30 years, starting her career as a software engineer on the plant floor.

In her 30 years at IBM, she held leadership roles that spanned across multiple disciplines of technical, sales, Intellectual Property, business and
strategy development. She led diverse teams to successfully drive businesses in markets across 15 countries in Asia Pacific. She also led in the
turn-around of a number of businesses.

In 2016, Ms Chong was recognised with the “CEO Champion Award” by Talentcorp. In Nov 2017, she was appointed to Talent Compact 4.0, an advisory panel in response to the impact of Industry Revolution 4.0 and the implication to the future of work. In April 2018, she was recognised by the Malaysian Business publication as one of Malaysia’s 25 Women of Influence. She was also appointed to the Board of Governors of American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce in 2018 and now serves as an Honorary member.

She channeled her passion for talent development by contributing to LeadWomen’s women development programs, ICAEW-Women In Leadership, Lean-in Malaysia and Monash University Alumni programs; and taught under the Teach For Malaysia Week campaign. She regularly speaks at forums on topics ranging from Women in Leadership to Digital Disruptions and Impact of Industry 4.0.

Chye Neo graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia where she majored in computer science and attended executive programs at Harvard Business
School, Boston.

Cooking is her favourite past time and she loves experimenting with alternative ingredients in pursuit of healthy eating. She believes that good food makes people happy and that you will never stop learning when you cook.

Edward Graham

Chairman, ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Malaysia

Mr. Edward E. Graham was appointed President of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. and Chairman of the ExxonMobil Subsidiaries in Malaysia in June 2017.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Graham was the Vice President and Production Manager for ExxonMobil Iraq Limited.

Mr. Graham started his career with ExxonMobil in 1989 when he joined then Exxon Production Research Company in Houston. He performed both research and application work for upstream affiliates in the areas of process engineering, risk assessment, consequence analysis and development planning.

He transferred to the U.S. operating organization in 1999, where he served in facilities surveillance and projects supervisory roles. In 2001, Mr. Graham became Project Manager for the $400 million LaBarge Acid Gas Injection Project in Wyoming. Upon completion of the project in 2004, he was named Operations Superintendent responsible for the company’s production operations in Wyoming and Colorado.

In 2006, Mr. Graham moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland where he served as ExxonMobil Canada’s Operations Technical Manager and then as Operations Manager. During this period, he was responsible for engineering, geoscience, operations, maintenance, construction and logistics activities associated with the Hibernia and Sable production assets.

In 2010, Mr. Graham moved back to Houston to become the Production Company SSH&E Manager. In this role, he and his team at headquarters had functional oversight for the safety, security, health and environmental teams located around the globe supporting ExxonMobil’s production operations.

In 2012, Mr. Graham was appointed ExxonMobil Production Company’s Producing Operations Manager having functional oversight of the company’s operations, maintenance, and logistics teams located around the globe.

In 2013, Mr. Graham was appointed Vice President and Production Manager for ExxonMobil Iraq Limited where he was responsible for the company’s oil and gas operations in Iraq. As contractor for Iraq’s South Oil Company, ExxonMobil manages the development of the world-class West Qurna I oilfield.

Mr. Graham holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas.

Sharifah Zaida Nurlisha Syed Ibrahim

President, Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council and CEO, MMC Oil & Gas Engineering Sdn. Bhd. 

Sharifah Zaida Nurlisha received her Bachelor of Electrical and Engineering degree (BEng(Hons)) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Nottingham University, England.

She began her career as an Instrument Engineer in Sime Engineering Sdn Bhd in 1990 before moving to Project Management discipline, with MMC Oil & Gas Engineering Sdn Bhd in 1995. Her experience encompasses Project Engineering experiences to Project Manager of different types of Oil & Gas contracts before assuming her current position as CEO of MMC Oil & Gas Engineering Sdn Bhd.

In her 30 years in the oil & gas industry, she has been involved in projects ranging from Conceptual, FEED, Detailed Design, Fabrication/Construction, Hook-up and Commissioning, EPCC and EPCIC projects locally and also outside of Malaysia.

She has actively served on the council of the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council (MOGSC) for 10 years, serving as an elected EXCO for the 2010/2012 tenure, Vice President for 2 terms, 2012/2014 and 2014/2016 and currently the elected President for her 3rd term for year 2020/2022. MOGSC is an NGO serving the Oil & Gas industry, bridging the gap between industry and stakeholders needs and expectation. MOGSC has currently over 500 members from the whole supply chain of the Malaysian Oil & Gas industry.

She was also nominated in 2017, by Amazons Watch Magazine/CELD (Centre for Economic and Leadership Development) as one of the Top 50 Female Energy Leaders in Emerging Economies (Asia/Africa). She was a board member of the Malaysian Board of Technologist (MBOT), an organisation that is responsible to accredit technologist and technicians in Malaysia.

Ainul Azhar Ainul Jamal

Independent, Non-Executive Director, PETRONAS

Born in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia in 1960, Ainul spent his primary and secondary school years in various parts of Malaysia due to his father’s role as member of the Royal Malaysian Police. He went to the United Kingdom to pursue his A-Levels and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Upon his return to Malaysia in 1983 , and after a short stint with Jabatan Kerja Raya, Ainul joined Schlumberger Oilfield Services in June 1984. Having had a
Schlumberger career spanning over 32 years in many positions around the world, Ainul is currently a board member of PETRONAS.

Sofiyan Yahya

Chief Executive Officer, Cekap Technical Services Sdn. Bhd. and Chairman, Koperasi Tenaga & Petroleum

Spanning 40 years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, in Malaysia and internationally.

Began working career in 1979, after graduating as a Mechanical Engineer from the City Universtity, London, UK, as a graduate engineer in the Production Department of PETRONAS, obtaining his first exposure to the Oil & Gas industry.

Later joined other companies as engineer and progressed into management positions, largely involved in engineering, construction and project management projects.

Gained exposure and accumulated extensive experience in various aspects of technical, operational, administration, projects, contractual, business development (including international business) and senior management.

And now as an entrepreneur, he is the Executive Chairman and founder partner of Cekap Technical Services Sdn Bhd, a niche business providing integrated project management and specialist technical services since 1994, celebrating more than 25 years of successful operations in Malaysia and internationally including Middle East, South Korea, Japan and ASEAN region. He is also the Chief Executive Officer and founder partner of SEAMOG Group Sdn Bhd, an integrated engineering services company providing EPCC and multi-discipline projects services. Other roles and responsibilities include as an Independent and Non-Executive Chairman of Ni Hsin Resources Bhd, a leading stainless steel products manufacturer exporting to South Korea and Japan, the Chairman and founder member of the Koperasi Tenaga dan Petroliam Bhd, a community driven initiative to empower the energy sector community through entrepreneurship and business, and he is an independent director of Bank Rakyat.

As an advocate for the interest of the industry, in particular the SMEs and local Malaysian players, he has actively served in various agencies and bodies as council member, advisor, trustee and office-bearer to champion the interests of the service providers in the Malaysian oil & gas industry, including promoting Malaysia as a regional hub for oil & gas services.

In particular, he was the founder member and past President of the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council, or MOGSC, the leading business platform for the Malaysian oil & gas services sector since 2003, and he is an Advisory Panel Member with the Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation or MPRC since 2012.

Others include his role as a past Vice President and council member of the Institute of Materials Malaysia or IMM, past Vice President and exco member of the Malaysian Oil & Gas Engineering Council or MOGEC, and founder of the biennial Malaysia Oil & Gas Services Exhibition and Conference or MOGSEC held since 2012, which uniquely showcases the capabilities of Malaysian players.

Mal Heron


Malcolm L. Heron (M’77-SM’81-F’12) was born in New Zealand. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics, the M.Sc. (first class honors) degree in physics, and Ph.D. degree in radio science, all from the University of Auckland,  New Zealand, 1965, 1967, and 1971, respectively. Between 1971 and 2007, he held several positions in physics in James Cook University, Townsville, Qld. Australia, ranging from Lecturer in Physics to Professor of Physics. He also served a term as Pro-Vice Chancellor for Science and Engineering at James Cook University (1989–1995). He was the Foundation Director of the Australian Ocean Radar Network between 2007 and 2011, and is currently the CEO of PORTMAP Remote Ocean Sensing Pty, Ltd., Queensland, Australia, and a Visitor to James Cook University. He has published more than 200 articles on radio wave propagation in the environment, physical oceanography, and mesoscale meteorology. Since 1981, his research focus has been on development and application of HF ocean radars. Through the 1990s his research has broadened into oceanographic phenomena which can be studied by remote sensing, including HF radar and salinity mapping from airborne microwave radiometers.  Throughout, there have been one-off papers where he has been involved in solving a problem in a cognate area like medical physics, and paleobiogeography.   Occasionally, he has diverted into side-tracks like a burst of papers on the effect of bushfires on radio communications.  He is currently working to improve tsunami alerts on HF radar. Prof. Heron is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Life Fellow of IEEE. He has served on multiple committees in the Northern Australia Section of the IEEE and is the Foundation Chair of the Australian Chapter of the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society. He was an Elected Member on the AdComm of OES in 2006–2011 and 2014–2016, and served on several associated committees.  He is currently OES VP for Technical Activities (2017-20).  He was the Associate Editor of the IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering (1986–2009), and was a Guest Editor for a Special Issue of the Journal in 2006.

Siti Sulaiman

Vice President Ventures East, Integrated Gas, Shell

Siti originates from Sarawak, Malaysia and graduated from Imperial College London with a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering. She has been in the oil and gas industry since 1994, started her career as an Operation Engineer in a Shell Malaysia upstream asset and has since broadened herself in many different areas which include project management, upstream development planning, Human Resource, Business Planning, economics, strategy and commercial. She was cross posted to Shell Exploration and Production in the UK in 2001 as a Development Planner & Economist supporting the exploration team in the North Sea and returned to Malaysia in 2004 to assume the role of Manager for the Economics and Planning group in Shell Malaysia Upstream. Subsequently, she was appointed as the Commercial and Strategy Manager and successfully led the team in completing and delivering many commercial projects and initiatives for Shell Malaysia upstream. In 2011, she was appointed as the first female Malaysian Asset Manager and became the director of Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited, accountable for the upstream oil and gas operations in Sabah, Malaysia and responsible for managing a team of more than 350 people in various offshore and onshore locations.

Siti moved to the UK to join Shell Trading & Supply (T&S) in Sept 2015, her first Downstream assignment, assuming the role of GM Global Operations Commercial Services leading a global organization of 670 people and accountable for key activities ranging from Trading Contracts, Demurrage & Claims management, Product Quality advisory, road transport scheduling of oil product delivery, all the way to driving operational excellence activities across Shell Trading and Supply operational assets.

Effective 1 July 2020, Siti is the VP Integrated Gas Ventures East accountable for a diverse portfolio of Shell JV gas assets in 4 different countries in the East i.e. Brunei, Malaysia, China and India. She represents Shell as Director on the Board of BLNG (Brunei), SMDS (Malaysia) and BG Mumbai Holdings Limited & BGEPIL (India).

Siti is married with 3 daughters aged 23, 19 and 14, loves to travel and spends her free time hiking in the countryside.

Shariza Sharis bt M Yusof

Chief Financial Officer, PETRONAS Gas Bhd.

Shariza Sharis is the Chief Financial Officer of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB). She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

She joined PETRONAS in 2001 upon completing her professional qualification at an accounting firm in United Kingdom. Over the span of 19 years, she has been assigned to several corporate and operating units within PETRONAS, covering areas which include corporate finance, accounts and financial reporting as well as strategy development and corporate planning, including a stint overseas. Prior to assuming her role in PGB on 1 September 2017, she was the Financial Controller for PETRONAS Chemicals Berhad.

She is presently responsible for the overall fiscal and financial management as well as investor relations for PGB Group of Companies. She also sits on the Boards of several PETRONAS subsidiaries and joint venture companies, and is an Alternate Director of Gas Malaysia Berhad.

Dato’ Raiha Azni Abd Rahman

Chairman Board of Directors, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS

Dato’ Raiha Azni Abd Rahman is the Advisor for Group Human Resource Management, PETRONAS effective 1 January 2020. She has been in the Human Resource Management of PETRONAS for over 35 years, assuming the position of Senior Vice President of Group Human Resource Management, PETRONAS in 2014. Prior to this, she served as Vice President of Group Human Resource Management Division, PETRONAS. She has held various leadership positions in PETRONAS’ Exploration and Production Business; PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd; PETRONAS Gas Bhd; and Malaysian International Trading Corporation Sdn Bhd.

During her tenure as the Senior Vice President of Group HRM, Raiha has a responsibility for 48,000 employees worldwide. She is passionate in coaching and developing a robust pipeline of leaders in PETRONAS. Raiha is also a strong advocate of women in the workforce and was responsible for the establishment of the PETRONAS Leading Women Network in 2015.

Dato’ Raiha is a Board Member of Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (Human Resource Development Fund) and council member of the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF).

She also holds the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors for Institut Teknologi Petroleum PETRONAS Sdn Bhd (University of Technology PETRONAS (UTP)) and PETRONAS Management Training Sdn Bhd (PETRONAS Leadership Center (PLC)).

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Syracuse University, New York, United States of America and completed numerous senior management development programmes including INSEAD. In 2019, she has been accorded the Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD).
